Frequently asked questions
The questions asked most often about Kavach, its opening timeline and how access works.
When does Kavach open?
The first Kavach vault is under development at Marsden Park in Sydney's north-west, with public opening planned for Q1 2027. Kavach is not currently trading. A Melbourne vault in the western suburbs is planned to follow the Sydney opening. This page will be updated when opening dates are confirmed.
Can I rent a box now?
Not yet. Kavach is pre-launch and is not currently trading. The Marsden Park vault is planned to open in Q1 2027. You can register your interest on the website at no cost and with no obligation. When the facility opens, registered members will be invited to complete identity verification, set up biometric access, and choose a box size.
How secure is Kavach compared to a bank or home safe?
Kavach is purpose-built for storing small valuables, with layered security: biometric-led identity checks at entry, a monitored facility, automated retrieval so boxes are moved by machine rather than by hand, and tamper-evident records of every access event.
Who has access to my vault?
Only you. Access is granted strictly via your unique biometric markers. Our staff have no visibility into the contents of your vault. Biometric and personal data is encrypted, with access limited to what the service requires.
Do I need to make an appointment to visit my vault?
No appointment is required, though we recommend booking in the Kavach app to reserve a booth and skip any wait at busy times. Either way, access is self-service during operating hours: no scheduling with staff, and no one handles your box but you.
How much does a secure vault cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the vault you choose. Our plans are competitive and transparent, with no hidden fees. View our pricing page for detailed tier options.
What valuables can I store in my Kavach vault?
You can store almost any high-value item, including jewellery, precious metals/bullion, legal documents, cryptocurrency cold wallets, rare collectibles, luxury watches, and corporate data backups. Hazardous, illegal, or perishable materials are strictly prohibited.
Is the vault environment safe for delicate documents and art?
The Marsden Park vault is being designed for the safe storage of paper documents, jewellery and delicate heirlooms. Specific environmental controls will be confirmed before opening.
Where are Kavach facilities located?
We are establishing our suburban vault network, starting with Marsden Park NSW (Site 1, opening Q1 2027) and expanding to Hoppers Crossing VIC as our next Melbourne site, so you don't have to travel far into the city to secure your assets.
What security features does Kavach use to protect my valuables?
Biometric-led access control at entry, a monitored facility with alarm and detection systems, automated retrieval, enclosed access booths, and tamper-evident access records for every visit.
Can I access my vault outside opening hours?
No. Access is during operating hours: Mon-Fri 10am-7pm, Sat-Sun 9am-4pm. Within those hours access is self-service and on your schedule: no appointment needed, and no one handles your box but you.
What types of valuables can I store at Kavach?
You can store high-value physical assets such as jewellery, precious metals/bullion, legal documents, family heirlooms, cryptocurrency cold wallets, and luxury watches. Hazardous, illegal, perishable, or explosive materials are strictly prohibited.
How do I become a member?
Becoming a member is simple. You can register for priority access through our website. Once your preferred location opens, you'll be invited to complete a KYC (Know Your Customer) verification, set up your biometric profile, and select your vault size.
What happens if I forget my access code or biometric fails?
Kavach relies on multi-factor biometric authentication rather than memorable access codes. In the rare event of a biometric scan failure, our support team will assist you remotely to verify your identity using traditional government-issued ID and backup security protocols so you do not lose access.
Can I transfer my vault to someone else?
Vaults cannot be directly transferred due to strict security and KYC protocols. However, you can add authorised secondary users (like family members or business partners) to your account, granting them their own secure biometric access.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
We offer flexible terms with both monthly and annual leasing options. If you choose to cancel your subscription, we require a 30-day notice period. Refunds for pre-paid annual plans are calculated on a pro-rata basis minus administrative fees.
Do you offer corporate or business storage solutions?
Yes, we provide scalable solutions for businesses needing secure document storage, multi-user access controls, and strict compliance tracking. Our comprehensive audit trails make it ideal for law firms, accounting practices, and local businesses.
How is my privacy protected at Kavach?
Our staff never see the contents of your vault. Biometric and personal data is encrypted, with access limited to what the service requires, and stored in Australia. CCTV footage is secured and only reviewed when a security incident is flagged.
